Are you one of the countless numbers of consumers that are spending your hard-earned dollars on unlabeled GMO foods everyday? Did you know that the FDA does not carry out any of their own testing, but they rely in its place on a voluntary discussion with businesses and off- the-record industry information to declare the safety of the foods they do not label; the foods many of us are eating every day? Former litigation with the Center for Food Safety revealed FDA documents that signified these foods may possibly cause substantial hazards to human health. Nevertheless, those observations were actually overruled.
Are you dining in the dark?
Fifteen European Union nations, Australia, New Zealand, China, Japan, Russia, and numerous additional nations throughout the globe require labeling of GMO foods and food products. ABC News recently determined from poll numbers that at least 93% of Americans feel that GMO foods should require labeling identification. However, America is one of the only nations around the world that does not currently require GMO labeling.
It is evident that Americans want to have the option of making informed choices when it comes to the food they eat themselves, as well as the food they feed to their families. Current FDA regulations do not give Americans that choice.
For more than a decade now, Americans have been asking our elected representatives, those who work for us, to pass a GMO labeling law, without success. We cannot stand by idle any longer. Now is the time for us to take this matter to the FDA, and to demand loud and clear, that GMO labeling is what we want and what we need!
The Center for Food Safety (CFS) recently filed a formal legal petition with the FDA demanding that the agency require the labeling of GMO foods. CFS is now spearheading a drive with over 350 other organizations and businesses in the “Just Label It! Campaign,” to direct one million comments to the FDA in support of their petition.
Please visit JustLabelIt.org and take action by signing the petition. Tell the FDA to label GMOs. We have the right to know what’s in our food!
